Chile: Authorities remove special COVID-19 entry measures for visitors from China as of May 3 /update 84

Event

Authorities have removed COVID-19-related entry restrictions for visitors coming from China as of May 3; mandatory tests for all travelers who have been in China in the last seven days no longer apply. Existing general entry restrictions and domestic measures remain.

Domestic Measures
Facemasks are only necessary in medical settings and for individuals who test positive or may be suffering from a COVID-19 infection. Random public testing may occur based on the prevalence of the disease in a given area.

International Travel Restrictions
Vaccinated passengers must show a vaccination record issued in the country in which the immunization was received. Authorities may select visitors at random for additional COVID-19 testing on entry, with persons testing positive have to undergo mandatory quarantine. Unvaccinated travelers must submit a negative PCR test 48 hours before arrival. There are no entry requirements for visitors under 18 years old.

Additional requirements are in effect to visit Rapa Nui.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays.
