Additional protests and associated clashes are possible in Ibadan, Oya State, as of May 31, following the sacking of a prominent transport union official Mukaila Lamidi (also known as Auxillary). Governor Seyi Makinde sacked Lamidi, who headed the Disciplinary Committee of Oyo State Motor Park Management System (PMS), hours after the former's inauguration. Clashes have occurred at Iyana Church, Alakia, Isebo, and Iwo Road areas of Ibadan since early May 30. Authorities have conducted raids that reportedly killed at least one person and arrested 78 others following the unrest. Further violence is possible, particularly as the police continue to search for Lamidi who escaped during the security operations.
