Heightened security is likely near the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad through the evening of June 29 following protests earlier in the day. Supporters of prominent Shi'a cleric Muqtada al-Sadr had, in the afternoon, briefly breached the embassy building and grounds. The demonstration began following al-Sadr's calls for a rally to demand the removal of the Swedish Ambassador after the Swedish government permitted the burning and desecration of a Quran in Stockholm. Embassy staff were evacuated, and there were no injuries.
