Informational

Event

Okinawa Prefecture will observe Memorial Day on June 23. Authorities will hold a memorial service at the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman at 11:50. The organizers expect 3,500 people to participate in the events. Japanese politicians including Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will likely attend the event. Protests by groups opposed to US military presence in Okinawa Prefecture have occurred during previous Memorial Day services, and remain possible on June 23.
