Malawi: Officials remove all COVID-19 restrictions in early June /update 29

Event

As of early June, authorities are no longer imposing domestic or international COVID-19 restrictions. The change was made effective from June 5 following the World Health Organization's advisory that COVID-19 was no longer considered a public health emergency of international concern.

In response to government reviews, all restrictions are subject to amendment at short notice. Some businesses and governmental institutions may continue to implement Covid-19-related measures and may be subject to reduced operating schedules.

Reconfirm all planned travel arrangements. Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or restrictions.
