Flight disruptions to occur at Cotabato Airport, Philippines, until at least Aug. 18 after officials close runway June 22.

Warning

Event

Flight disruptions will occur at Cotabato Airport (CBO) in Maguindanao del Norte Province through at least Aug. 18 after officials closed the runway for urgent repairs on June 22. CBO's runway closure will likely impact several domestic flights between Cotabato City, North Cotabato, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur, including Philippines Airlines (PR). PR has canceled flights between Cebu, Manila, Tawi-Tawi, and Cotabato until further notice; other airlines will likely cancel or reschedule flights to and from CBO during the runway closure.

Officials have stated that alternative PR flights will be provided daily between Manila and Davao through June 30. Flights will depart from Manila at 08:50 and Davao International (DVO) at 11:20. Authorities have suggested travelers flying from DVO arrive at least 3 hours before departure. Passengers impacted by the PR cancelations will automatically be rescheduled on replacement Manila-Davoa flights.

The rescheduling of passengers on impacted flights will likely prompt delays at affected airports through at least Aug. 18.

Advice

Reconfirm the status of flights if traveling on PR and consider liaising with other airlines that service CBO through at least Aug. 18. Arrive at least 3 hours before scheduled departure if traveling from DVO. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
