The LGBTQ community plans to hold its annual march in Montreal, Quebec, Aug. 13, as part of the city's Montreal Pride Festival (Fierte Montreal) celebrations.
Participants will gather at the intersection of Rene-Levesque Boulevard and Metcalfe Street near Dorchester Square starting at 13:00. The procession will then move along Rene-Levesque Boulevard to the intersection with Rue Alexandre-DeSeve.
The event will probably draw large crowds. Authorities will almost certainly deploy heightened security along the route as a precaution; localized transport and business disruptions are likely. While the march will likely remain peaceful, minor isolated confrontations cannot be ruled out if counterdemonstrators attempt to assemble nearby.
