Transport and business disruptions are likely to continue on Avenida Caracas in Bogota amid an ongoing protest as of the afternoon of Aug. 2. Activists, some of them students, demand peace negotiations led by the national government, including the demobilization of paramilitary groups. Demonstrators have been marching from the headquarters of Ecopetrol, affecting traffic along Avenida Caracas and nearby Carrera 13.
