Workers of Air Caraibes, headquartered in Guadeloupe, extend strike indefinitely as of Aug. 24. Reconfirm flights.

Warning

Event

As of Aug. 24, Air Caraibes (TX) employees in Guadeloupe, represented by the National Union of Commercial Flight Crew (Syndicat National des Personnels Navigants Commerciaux, SNPNC), announced plans to continue to strike indefinitely. The work stoppage began on Aug. 11 and had been extended through Aug. 25, but there have been no agreements regarding the workers' salary demands. The airline management had initially claimed the strike would have a limited impact on flight schedules due to charter flights and non-striking employees; however, the impact of labor action over a more extended period remains unclear.

The strike will most likely affect operations via the airline's hub, Pointe-a-Pitre International Airport (PTP). Disruptions to Air Caraibes operations, including flights, are likely for the duration of the strike.

Advice

Confirm flights if booked to travel with Air Caraibes. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Allow extra time for checking in at affected airports.
