As of the morning of Aug. 31, heavy fog is causing flight disruptions at New Zealand's Auckland Airport (AKL). According to authorities, disruptions are impacting only regional domestic flights, with at least 25 such flights having been canceled and eight others delayed. However, domestic flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Queenstown have not been affected. International flights have also remained unaffected.

Although the fog is forecast to clear later in the morning, lingering flight disruptions could continue into the early afternoon as affected carriers reposition aircraft and work through their passenger backlogs.
