Panama: Protests cause traffic disruptions in Panama City, Aug. 30

Members of the Union of Construction Workers of Panama (Sindicato Unico Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria de la Construcción y Similares, SUNTRACS) are protesting in several locations in Panama City on Aug. 30 to denounce a mining contract agreement between the government and First Quantum Minerals. Protests have been reported along Costa del Este, Corredor Sur, and near Panama Maracana Stadium. Traffic disruptions have been reported in affected areas.
