Animal rights activists plan to hold a protest march in central Lisbon on Sept. 2. Participants will gather in Praca Dom Pedro IV at 15:30 before departing at 16:00 for a rally at Fonte Luminosa. The march route includes Rua da Betesga, Praca da Figueira, Rua Dom Duarte, Rua da Palma, and Rua Almirante Reis. It is unclear how many participants may attend; however, previous protests by the involved organizations have drawn about 500 demonstrators.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route and may linger for several hours.
