Activists assert that the expansion of the zones will cause economic hardship for city residents. Isolated confrontations between demonstrators and police have occurred.

Heightened security and transport disruptions will almost certainly continue for the duration of the protest. Further isolated skirmishes between demonstrators and police are possible.
