Emergency crews are responding to missile strikes in Lviv and Lutsk on the morning of Aug. 15. Russian missiles targeted the cities of Lviv and Lutsk early on Aug. 15. Ukrainian air defense intercepted most missiles; however, authorities report several successful strikes and debris-related damages.
Officials state during the missile strike, at least three people were killed, and three more were injured in an industrial facility in Lutsk.
In Lviv, authorities report at least 15 injured after Russian missiles hit a residential area. Early reports state that the strikes damaged at least 40 buildings. Authorities are evacuating the damaged buildings in Ryashivska, Patona, and Kakhovska streets.
Disruptions to transport and business are likely in Lviv and Lutsk over the coming hours as the emergency response is ongoing. Authorities conduct search and rescue operations. The damage incurred in the attack may cause lingering utility disruptions. Further missile strikes are likely in the coming days.
