Event

Activists from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party have postponed a protest march initially scheduled for Sept. 12 until Oct. 3. Participants will gather from 08:00 at the Obra Spot before marching towards Independence Square. The action may last until 18:00. The purpose of the protest is to demand the resignation of the chief of the Bank of Ghana over alleged mismanagement of funds. Organizers have notified police of the planned action.

Heightened security and traffic disruptions are likely along the march route. While widespread violence is not anticipated, clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
