Ghana: Labor unions suspend nationwide strike from Oct. 10 over mining environmental issues /update 1

Labor unions represented by the Organised Labour organization have called off a nationwide strike scheduled from Oct. 10 to denounce illegal mining, known as "Galamsey," due to its environmental impact. Union leaders made the announcement following a meeting with the government, which has pledged several measures to combat illegal mining.
