Additional violence is possible near Sidon's Ain al-Hilweh over the coming days following clashes in the area Sept. 7-9. Fighting between suspected rival armed Palestinian groups is believed to have killed at least three people, and injured at least 20 others.

Heightened security measures, including road closures and personnel and vehicle checks, are likely in the affected area. Localized transport and business disruptions are likely. Additional violence is possible.

Context

Clashes in Ain al-Hilweh between rival Palestinian groups are a relatively regular occurrence. The most recent incident of armed violence, which began in late July, lasted several days and resulted in at least 13 deaths and dozens of injuries.
