Mexico: Animal rights activists to march in downtown Puebla, Puebla State, Sept. 5

Animal rights activists to march in downtown Puebla, Puebla State, Mexico, 19:00 Sept. 5.

Warning

Event

Animal rights activists plan to march in downtown Puebla, Puebla State, on Sept. 5. The purpose of the action is to denounce a recent case of animal cruelty in Huejotzingo. Although organizers have not provided a specific marching route, participants aim to gather from 19:00 in front of the Integral Service Center (Centro Integral de Servicios, CIS), office of Angelopolis.

The demonstration will likely cause transport disruptions. Although the action should remain largely peaceful, authorities will almost certainly deploy an increased security presence nearby as a precaution. Clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out, especially if security forces attempt to forcibly disperse crowds. Localized business disruptions are likely.

Advice

Avoid the demonstration as a precaution. Allow additional time for travel in central Puebla on Sept. 5. Heed all official transport and security advisories.
