Warning

Activists affiliated with various organizations plan to stage demonstrations throughout Mexico City on Oct. 15. One of the largest and most disruptive demonstrations is likely to be by the Union of Neighborhood Struggle of the Anahuac Valley (Union de la Lucha Vecinal del Valle de Anahuac) where 1,500 members will march at an unspecified time from the intersection of Calzada San Antonio Abad and Avenida Fray Servando Teresa de Mier toward the Chamber of Deputies. Additionally, 1,000 members of the National Front of Healthcare Workers (Frente Nacional de Trabajadores de la Salud, FNTS) will stage a demonstration from 11:00 at the Institute of Health for Wellbeing (Instituto de la Salud para el Bienestar, INSABI). Other protests are also scheduled in the capital on Oct. 15, and additional demonstrations may materialize at short notice.

Transport and business disruptions are highly likely in areas subject to protest activity. Authorities will likely deploy a heightened security presence to demonstration sites. Clashes between demonstrators and police are possible, particularly if security forces attempt to forcibly disperse protesters.

As a precaution, avoid the demonstrations. If operating in Mexico City, allow additional time to reach destinations and seek alternative routes to circumvent transport disruptions. Adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
