Moldova: Disruptions likely in central Chisinau, Sept. 16

Road travel disruptions are likely in central Chisinau on Sept. 16 during funeral events for the recently deceased former president, Mircea Snegur. Various routes will be temporarily closed through the afternoon. Events will focus on the Palace of the Republic where the state funeral will occur. Snegur will be buried at the Central Cemetery following the funeral. Officials have also declared a day of national mourning.

Disruptions could persist into the early evening. Disruptions to business and state operations are also possible on Sept. 16. A heightened security presence is likely throughout Chisinau.
