Morocco: Activists to protest at French Embassy in Rabat on Sept. 22

Activists affiliated with several civil society organizations, including the Moroccan Organization for Citizenship and the Defense of Territorial Unity, the National Observatory for Royal Youth and Media, and the National Council of Green March Volunteers, plan to protest in front of the French Embassy in Rabat beginning at 16:00 Sept. 22. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce French President Emmanuel Macron's perceived intervention in Moroccan internal affairs following his recent address to Moroccans regarding humanitarian aid.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are almost certain near the French Embassy during the gathering. Violence is unlikely.
