Warning

Event

Ongoing protests denouncing the recent abduction of multiple Hindu minorities remain possible in Sindh Province through at least mid-September. Since Sept. 1, activists from several religious communities have held varying types of demonstrations in various areas, including Kandhkot, Kashmore, Naushahro Feroze, Nawabshah, and Thatta. As of Sept. 6, emerging reports indicate localized business disruptions have occurred in Kandhkot and Kashmore due to an ongoing shutdown strike. Additionally, activists are holding various sit-in protests along some parts of the National Highway in the impacted areas, prompting intermittent localized transport disruptions. Additional diverse gatherings are possible over the coming days, especially near police stations, government buildings, press clubs, and thoroughfares. Participation will probably vary by locale.

Authorities will likely monitor any such rallies and may move to disperse overly disruptive crowds. Isolated clashes between police and activists cannot be ruled out. Demonstrators may march along or block roadways, prompting additional localized transport disruptions. Further associated localized business disruptions are possible.

Advice

Avoid all demonstrations as a precaution. Depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance. Allow additional travel time near gathering sites. Plan accordingly for possible localized business disruptions. Heed all official transport and security advisories.
