Members of the Union of Construction Workers of Panama (Sindicato Unico Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria de la Construccion y Similares, SUNTRACS) are protesting in several locations in Panama City on Sept. 4 and have called for a march on Sept. 5. Protests have been causing disruptions along Autopista Arraijan-La Chorrera, Corredor Sur, Corredor Norte, and several other locations on Sept. 4. On Sept. 5, protesters will gather at Parque Belisario Porras and march to the National Assembly from 16:00.
Protesters are also likely to gather in other urban centers over the coming days. Disruptions to businesses, transport, and public services are likely in the vicinity of demonstrations. Police may move to disperse protesters, which could prompt confrontations.
