The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) has called for a protest in front of the National Assembly in Seoul, from 11:00 Sept. 21. The action is to denounce the proposed arrest of DPK leader Lee Jae-myung in multiple criminal cases including corruption, fraud, and illegal money transfers to North Korea; lawmakers are set to vote on his prosecution from 14:00 that day. Organizers claim 100, 000 supporters will join the demonstration, though earlier rallies have only attracted up to hundreds of people. Participants may also stage prolonged sit-ins.

Heightened security is certain at the protest site. Traffic diversions are likely, mainly along Uisadang-daero. Additional localized transport disruptions are probable if the event if well-attended. While the protest is likely to pass off peacefully, minor skirmishes cannot be ruled out.
