UK: Ground handling staff plan strike at London Luton Airport, Sept. 6
Ground handling staff at London Luton Airport, UK, plan strike Sept. 6; processing delays and flight disruptions are possible.
Event
Ground handling staff employed by Wizz Air (W6) plan to strike at London Luton Airport (LTN) Sept. 6, over pay and working conditions. This is the second of three days of industrial action; a previous strike took place Aug. 30 and a further one is planned Sept. 13.
Unless fully averted, any strike that takes place will likely disrupt flight check-in and baggage processing, particularly for Wizz Air operations. Flight disruptions due to passenger delays may also occur. Picketing may occur at or near the airport.
Advice
Confirm arrangements with travel operators if traveling via LTN during the strike period. Arrive at the airport early to mitigate the impact of the industrial action. Maintain flexible schedules to allow for possible delays.
