Yellow Vest activists to hold protest march in central Paris, France, from 13:30 Oct. 21. Localized transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Event

Activists associated with the Yellow Vest movement plan to hold a protest march in central Paris from 13:30 on Oct. 21. Participants will gather at Place Edmond Michelet before departing at 15:00 for Place Saint-Pierre. Protestors wish to call for the withdrawal of France from the EU and NATO, a ban on COVID-19 pandemic-era health regulations, and an end to alleged state violence, among other things. It is unclear how many participants may attend. Organizers announced that demonstrators will travel along Rue Aubry, Rue Saint-Denis, Rue Etienne Marcel, Rue du Louvre, Rue Montmartre, Rue du Faubourg Montmartre, Rue Notre Dame de Lorette, Rue Fontaine, Boulevard de Clichy, Boulevard Rochechouart, and Rue de Clignancourt.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators, law enforcement officers, or frustrated motorists cannot be ruled out.

Advice

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the march route. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance could occur.
