Power disruptions reported across much of Ghana due to limited gas supply as of Oct. 27.

Power disruptions are affecting parts of the country as of Oct. 27; the outages began late Oct. 26. The electricity provider Ghana GRID Company Limited (GRIDCo) has stated the outages is due to limited gas supply late Oct. 26 which resulted in a generation shortfall at the Tema power station, near Accra. It is unknown how long the power disruptions will last.

Commercial and communications disruptions are possible in the areas affected by the outage. Traffic lights may not function, resulting in traffic disruptions, and public transport that relies on power may be affected. The outage could also result in the temporary unavailability of essential facilities such as ATMs and filling stations.

Charge all communication and portable electronic devices when possible. Unplug electronic equipment that is not connected to surge protectors. Plan for disruptions to business and utility services. Exercise caution when driving in areas affected by power outages. Follow local travel and security advice.
