Italy: Activists demonstrating in central Turin Oct. 3

Activists are staging a protest march in central Turin Oct. 3 to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The protesters plan to march to the Piazza Castello; however, the march has been blocked by police and clashes have occurred. There are reportedly about 300 protesters participating in the march.

Authorities will likely maintain a heightened security presence in the affected area over the coming hours. Transport and business disruptions are likely where increased security measures are in effect. Further clashes between protesters and police, cannot be ruled out.
