Housing groups and opposition political parties plan to demonstrate in Rome, Oct. 27. The Spin Time Labs group and opposition Democratic Party will denounce evictions from housing collectives. Attendees will gather at 17:00 at the former Cinema Palazzo, Piazza dei Sanniti, San Lorenzo, and then march to the Prefecture of Rome in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. The rally is scheduled to end at 19:00. Organizers predict 5,000 will take part.
Authorities will almost certainly deploy increased security in the march route for duration of the demonstration. Security-related transport disruptions are possible. The gathering is expected to remain peaceful.
Avoid the affcted area during the evening of Oct. 27 as a precaution. Heed the instructions of local security personnel. Allow extra time to reach destinations near the demonstration venue; leave the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
