Labor unions and political groups plan to demonstrate in Rome, Oct. 7. The CGIL labor union and over 100 other associations will participate in the campaign "The High Road; Together for the Constitution", to call for increased pay and other civil society demands. Two separate marches will take place: attendees will gather at 13:45 in Piazza della Repubblica and in Piazzale dei Partigiani, and then proceed to Piazza San Giovanni, where speeches will be held 15:15-17:15. It is likely that several thousand people will take part in the event.

Authorities will likely deploy additional police to manage the demonstration. Heightened security and associated road closures will likely cause localized transport disruptions.
