Activists associated with the Marxist Red Sun People's Movement (Corriente del Pueblo Sol Rojo) are marching along Carretera 190 in the Santa Lucia del Camino area of Oaxaca on Oct. 12. The purpose of the action is to denounce the arrest of activists in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region and the works of the Interoceanic Corridor.
Traffic disruptions are occurring in the area. Although the action should remain largely peaceful, clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out, especially if police use force to disperse the participants. Localized business disruptions are likely.
