Romania: Activists to demonstrate in Cluj-Napoca Oct. 28
Political activists to protest at City Hall in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from 09:00 Oct. 28. Increased security, transport disruptions likely.
Activists affiliated with the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) Party plan to protest at the Cluj-Napoca City Hall from 09:00 Oct. 28 to denounce Cluj-Napoca mayor Emil Bloc's alleged ineffectiveness. AUR founder and leader George Simion will be in attendance. It is unclear how many participants may attend.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the protest. Allow for extra travel time near the affected area. Heed instructions from authorities. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
