Albania: Activists to demonstrate in Tirana Nov. 9

Activists to protest at Prime Minister's Office in Tirana, Albania, from 16:00 Nov. 9. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Activists plan to protest at the Prime Minister's Office (Zyra e Kryuministrit) on Deshmoret e Kombit Boulevard from 16:00 Nov. 9. Demonstrators aim to denounce a recent agreement between Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to build two immigrant centers in Albania to host deportees from Italy until their request for asylum is reviewed. It is unclear how many participants may attend.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration site. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the Prime Minister's Office. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
