France: Unionized taxi drivers to stage vehicular road march in central Strasbourg early Nov. 27

Unionized taxi drivers to stage vehicular road march in Strasbourg, France, early Nov. 27. Significant transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Unionized taxi drivers plan to stage a go-slow vehicular road march through Strasbourg early Nov. 27. The purpose of the action is to demand access for drivers to ply their trade along major bus service routes. Participants will assemble at Strasbourg Entzheim International Airport (SXB) starting at 07:30 before departing for Place de l'Etoile in the city center at 08:00. The convoy will leave SXB along the D400 motorway, turning north on the M35, and passing near the Main Railway Station along Boulevard du President Wilson and Boulevard de Nancy, as it moves to its final destination. The action is slated to end at 11:00.

Municipal authorities have advised the public that significant traffic disruptions are likely beginning at 07:00, particularly near SXB, Place des Halles, the Strasbourg Rail Station, Boulevard de Metz, Boulevard de Nancy, and Quai Menachem Taffel. Disruptions could continue for several hours after the demonstration ends. Increased crowding is possible on alternative modes of public transportation.

Allow extra time to reach destinations in central Strasbourg, as well as for travel between the city and SXB during the planned demonstration. Heed the instructions of local authorities.
