Nigeria: Protest obstructs access to and from Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Nov. 9

Union members disrupt access to and from Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Nigeria, Nov. 9. Flight disruptions possible.

Warning

Activists affiliated with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) are protesting near Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (ABV), Nov. 9. Road access to and from ABV is obstructed. The purpose of the action is likely linked to the recent alleged assault of the NLC Imo State leader.

Access to and from ABV will likely remain obstructed until security forces intervene. Clashes between opposing participants and security forces are possible. Flight disruptions, including flight delays and cancelations at ABV, cannot be ruled out over the coming hours; international routes are unlikely to be impacted.

Confirm all domestic and international flights at ABV on Nov. 9. Arrive early at the airport to allow additional time for processing. Avoid all protests. Do not drive through roadblocks; wait for police to clear them.
