Peru: Protesters to march in Lima Nov. 9

Groups of business and motorcycle taxi workers plan to protest in Lima on Nov. 9. Protesters plan to march at 10:00 from Mercado 12 de Octubre to the Congress building, located on Avenida Abancay. The demonstrators are mostly workers from La Victoria district in Lima who will protest the presence of foreign citizens who, according to these groups, engage in illegal activities.

Localized transport and business disruptions near the march are likely. Police will likely monitor the gathering. Clashes cannot be entirely ruled out, especially if demonstrators come into contact with pro-immigration groups or groups of migrants who oppose the demonstration.
