Unions representing public administration workers plan to demonstrate in Lisbon and Porto, Nov. 11. The Common Front of Public Administration Unions (CGTP-IN) is demanding pay increases. The protests will mark the end of a period of industrial action, that started Oct. 25. It is likely that several thousand will take part in each event. The demonstrations will take place at:

  • Lisbon, Principe Real at 15:00

  • Porto, Praca da Republica at 11:00.

Police will likely deploy enhanced security measures to facilitate and monitor the events. Localized disruptions are likely. Violence is unlikely.

Avoid the demonstration as a routine precaution. Plan for localized transport disruptions and allow for extra travel time near the demonstration sites.
