Unionized metro workers suspend strike campaign in Seoul, South Korea, late Nov. 21.

Informational

Metro workers affiliated with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), an umbrella organization representing three labor unions, have suspended their strike campaign in Seoul late Nov. 21. The decision follows successful negotiations between union leaders and management officials to meet some of their demands. Reports indicate further collective bargaining will continue over the coming weeks to discuss several issues, including the company's workforce reduction and restructuring plans. As of late Nov. 21, a reviewed strike campaign remains possible if strike organizers perceive management officials to be reneging on their demands.
