As of the early evening of Nov. 1, authorities are continuing their response to a violent incident that occurred in Rockwall County, Texas. While details of the incident remain unclear, police reportedly engaged in a chase with an unidentified suspect, which ended in an exchange of gunfire with pursuing officers along Interstate Route 30 (I-30) near the Garland-Rowland town line. The suspect was injured and taken into custody; authorities have as yet released no further information on the incident.
Significant traffic disruptions are occurring near the scene, with I-30 westbound remaining closed between Dalrock and Horizon roads. A heightened security presence and associated localized transport disruptions will likely continue for several hours.
