Bosnia and Herzegovina: Political activists likely to protest in central Sarajevo Dec. 6
Pro-Serbian activists likely to protest at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo on Dec. 6; increased security, disruptions likely.
Republika Srpska (RS) activists are likely to protest at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, Dec. 6. The RS President, Milorad Dodik, is attending a trial, accused of refusing to recognize decisions made by Bosnia's international high representative and the constitutional court. It is not known how many will attend. Political tensions are likely to remain high in coming days.
Authorities will almost certainly deploy an increased police presence to the court house and other potential rally locations. Localized transport disruptions are likely in areas impacted by protest activity. The potential for clashes between protestors and police or counter-protesters will be elevated, given the political tensions.
Avoid the areas of the announced protest as a standard security precaution. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement personnel. Allow extra time to reach destinations near rally location until the demonstration has ended and the participants have vacated the area.
