Authorities further announced heightened security measures to protect schools and other vulnerable locations nationwide. Investigations will likely continue into the incident at Charles University's Faculty of Arts in coming days; road closures may remain in place in the vicinity of Jan Palach Square.

Police confirmed at least 14 dead and 25 wounded as a result of the shooting at Charles University's Faculty of Arts in Jan Palach Square, Prague, Dec. 21. A further temporary security alert was raised when police responded to reports that the assailant may have concealed explosives at the site.
