Local authorities will continue to implement increased security measures in Prague in coming days, following mass shooting event in the afternoon of Dec. 21. Authorities further announced heightened security measures to protect schools and other vulnerable locations nationwide. Investigations will likely continue into the incident at Charles University's Faculty of Arts in coming days; road closures may remain in place in the vicinity of Jan Palach Square.

Police confirmed at least 14 dead and 25 wounded as a result of the shooting at Charles University's Faculty of Arts in Jan Palach Square, Prague, Dec. 21. A further temporary security alert was raised when police responded to reports that the assailant may have concealed explosives at the site.
