Unionized taxi drivers plan protests in Strasbourg, France, from 16:00 Dec. 8. Plan for disruptions.

Warning

Unionized taxi drivers plan to protest in Strasbourg from 16:00 Dec. 8. The Departmental Union of Taxi Craftsmen has organized a "rolling blockade" to demand increased access to bus lanes. Participants will gather in Place de l'Abattoir before departing around 16:00 for Place de la Republique; the protest route will take the vehicle procession throughout the city center. The go-slow demonstration will reportedly end at 22:00; however, lingering traffic disruptions will likely continue through the evening.

Authorities will almost certainly deploy to monitor and facilitate the protest. Significant transport disruptions are likely throughout central Strasbourg Dec. 8. Business disruptions are also likely. Violence is not anticipated.

Avoid all protests. Plan for road travel delays in central Strasbourg through the late evening of Dec. 8. Heed instructions from authorities.
