Protesters plan to march in central Lisbon, Portugal, from 14:00 Dec. 9. Transport disruptions, heightened security likely.
Climate activists plan to hold a protest in central Lisbon on Dec. 9. Participants will gather at Saldanha before departing at 14:00 for a march to Marques do Pombal, where an assembly to discuss climate actions will be held. Protesters will later also march along Avenida da Liberdade.
Protesters may also march to other locations in Lisbon on Dec. 9. Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route and may linger for several hours. Violence is not anticipated.
Avoid the march route and rally points as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the demonstration area.
