Law enforcement and military officers affiliated with the national police union plan to stage a protest march in central Bucharest Dec. 14. Participants will assemble at the Piaza Revolutiei at 13:00 before marching to the Palace of the Parliament located at 2-4 Strada Izvor. The purpose of the event is to demand increased salaries and better working conditions. The Dec. 14 demonstration follows a series of daily rallies held by the same group at the Ministry of Public Finance since Dec. 11.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the march route. Low-level confrontations between protesters and security personnel cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the march route. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
