Climate activist groups to stage demonstrations in Madrid and other major centers, Dec. 2-3. The largest demonstration is likely to be in Madrid. Attendees will gather at 12:00 on Dec. 3 in Puerta del Sol, and then march to Plaza de Cibeles. Thousands of attendees are likely, based on previous events. Groups including Fridays for Future, Youth for Climate, Climate Alliance, and Greenpeace will mark the ongoing COP28 event in Dubai with a campaign of protests. The activists will demand increased government action on climate policies.

Additional police will likely deploy to monitor the event. The protest will likely cause transport disruptions in central Madrid and other urban centers through Dec. 2-3.
