Tuvalu: Fiji Airways to resume some flights servicing Funafuti from Dec. 18 /update 1

Fiji Airways (FJ) will resume some flights to and from Funafuti International Airport (FUN) in Tuvalu From Dec. 18. The notice of a resumption of flights follows FJ's suspension of flights due to runway damage at FUN following heavy rains in recent days. Some repairs have since been made prompting the flight resumption. Fiji Airways is the only international airline servicing FUN, connecting Tuvalu with Suva and Nadi in Fiji.

Flight disruptions will likely persist in the coming days until regular airport operations resume. Lingering delays are probable after flights fully recommence and as the airline works to clear passenger backlogs.
