Emergency services are responding to a gas leak at the Holiday Twin Rinks in Cheektowaga in New York the evening of Dec. 28. Officials have evacuated the building due to very high levels of carbon monoxide. At least three people are injured. The cause of the incident is unclear.

A heightened security presence will likely continue in the affected area over the coming hours. Associated transport and business disruptions are probable. Further evacuations of nearby buildings are possible.

Cheektowaga is around 10 km (6 miles) northeast of Buffalo.
