US: Severe winter weather causes flight disruptions at Denver International Airport in Denver, Colo., Dec. 26

Lingering flight delays and cancellations likely at Denver International Airport in Denver, Colo., US, amid severe winter weather Dec. 26.

Warning

Flight delays and cancellations will likely impact Denver International Airport (DEN) in Denver, Colorado, through at least late Dec. 26 due to severe winter weather. Morning snowfall in the city and blizzard conditions affecting much of eastern Colorado have led to hundreds of flight delays and more than a dozen cancellations at the airport Dec. 26. The disruptions are primarily impacting flights operated by SkyWest Airlines (OO), United Airlines (UA), and Southwest Airlines (WN).

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may issue weather-related ground delay programs and/or ground stops for DEN over the coming hours. Residual flight disruptions are possible even after weather conditions improve as airlines work to clear any passenger backlogs that have materialized.

Contact your airline to confirm flight status if booked to travel via DEN Dec. 26. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider making alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel if necessary.
