Bosnia/Herzegovina: Activists to demonstrate in central Sarajevo Jan. 6
Activists to protest at King Tvrtko i Kotromanic, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 12:00 Jan. 6. Heightened security likely.
Activists plan to protest at the King Tvrtko i Kotromanic Monument at 16 Marshall Tito Street in Sarajevo from 12:00 Jan. 6. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the planned celebration of Republic Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina's Republika Srpska (RS) entity. The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina previously declared the celebration of the Jan. 9 holiday unconstitutional. It is unknown how many participants may attend.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration site. Though unlikely, low-level confrontations between protesters and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the King Tvrtko i Kotromanic Monument. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
