The purpose of the rally is to show support for the transitional government, the Burkinabe Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). The number of participants the event may draw remains unclear.
Authorities will almost certainly deploy an increased security presence to the site to monitor the demonstration. Localized traffic disruptions are likely. Clashes cannot be ruled out if opposition groups attempt to stage counter-demonstrations.
Avoid all demonstrations as a standard precaution and to mitigate any related disruptions. If violence breaks out nearby, immediately leave the area and take shelter in a secure, nongovernmental building. Exercise a high degree of caution if traveling in Est Region and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
